Beautiful piece. Also - I'm so sorry you fell :( Often even a slight hit to the head like the one you described can trigger a mild concussion -- and if so, the crying afterwards is common. The best thing for a mild concussion is omega 3 supplementation and extra cardio to get blood flow to the brain. <3

I don't know how you do it. I think it is because you speak from your heart. Your words are so beautiful and meaningful. I have tears in my eyes while I read each of your essays. I think that I said this before to you in another comment: you express so much of me to me. You've let me know you (or a part of you) and I love you for it. Thank you.

The journey of this piece really hits at every angle. Thanks for taking us on it with you. I always feel like I'm uniting, and sometimes reuniting, with parts of myself or my personal lived experience through your writing and musings around your own -- and on a level of connection and clarity that I don't quite reach with other writers (because of course we bring our own perceived associations to all things we read). I have deep and visceral gratitude for that. Also - what a lovely and honest connection you shared with your daughter - the subtle and raw way the two of you emotionally cared for and were present with each other in this piece brought tears of longing to my eyes, tbh. I hope your scrapes and bruises are healing well. Much love to you, Heather.
