I was going through some old email and saw where I asked my daughter if it would be ok to have this read at my funeral. When I reread it, I saw I never told you how perfect I found it to be. Now I have.
I have read you for years and years—since you started at Salon! I don’t have words to express how much I appreciate you and your writing. Like so many ideas you share, this piece took my breath away. Thank you for turning over all of the stones to show us the underside and everything that lives there. To say that your writing has saved my soul is an understatement.
Also, a question I’ve wondered for a while: Do you choose the animal images for the Ask Polly columns? They are perfection!
Heather, it is an extra treat to see how you illustrate each of these pieces. I hope it is a really fun part of the process for you. I want to ask, where are you getting your images from? I'm assuming they're royalty-free? (I write a monthly column on self-care for a knitting outlet, and I usually use images from the Rijksmuseum, but there must be new sources all the time...) Anyway, thank you for EVERYTHING <3

Best thing ever.
